Instead, it’s time to give pillows the prominent display that they deserve. A good mattress without a good pillow could be a recipe for a bad night’s sleep. Remember: A pillow is a bed for the head.
The proliferation of pillows has been a positive trend in the mattress arena, as retailers look to build their tickets, build comfort for their customers and deliver a better night of sleep.
But those great pillows deserve their own showcase, a point that struck me during my Premarket visits to bedding showrooms last month. And now, with the full market open, that lesson assumes greater importance. Bedding buyers should not miss the array of sleep accessories offered in High Point.
Two bedding and sleep accessories companies that I visited during Premarket offer strong pillow displays, as these photos illustrate.
Malouf has long been a standout in the merchandising and display arenas, and its revamped High Point showroom continues that momentum. The Malouf pillow wall, also seen at the Las Vegas Market, makes a compelling statement, with a variety of shapes, colors and packages practically begging buyers to check out the pillows.
Bedgear is another company that emphasizes strong displays, and its two High Point showrooms, in close proximity, offer attractive mattress and pillow presentations.
Look at the display of Bedgear’s new Glacier pillow line. It is straightforward, giving each pillow its own shelf. What a great place for a retail sales associate to start a shopper: Let’s find your perfect pillow so you can enjoy our mattresses.
