A more muted bedding presentation greeted retailers who arrived at the World Market Center campus in Las Vegas last week.
With major construction under way on the WMC campus, all but one of the banners on the parking deck were gone, depriving bedding marketers of some prime real estate to make their pitches to retailers.
The WMC turned the side of Building A — where huge Simmons banners once held sway — into a backdrop for bedding banners and banners for other exhibitors at market.
There were five bedding banners on Building A: Beautyrest, Serta, Therapedic, Customatic and Englander. Restonic again touted its partnership with Scott Living, featuring the Scott brothers standing very tall in a towering banner on Building C. And MLily had the only bedding banner at the far end of the parking deck.
The most provocative banner was presented by Englander: “Wolves in sheep’s clothing circling your consumers? Englander. Restoring Retailer Profits.”
Englander President Mark Kinsley said Englander is addressing concerns raised by retailers in the marketplace and asserted that Englander is the solution to retailers’ worries.
Therapedic became the first Top 10 bedding producer to tout its CBD chops, advertising its B-calm line of CBD-infused mattresses.
Beautyrest promoted its new “Sleep First Class” tag line, a strong call out to the better sleep the producer says its flagship bedding line offers.
Serta touted its iComfort Hybrid line, which it said is “coming this Spring,” emphasizing its commitment to timely delivery of its key products.
MLily promoted its new MLily Sleep System with a picture of a woman floating on air above an adjustable sleep set, one of the company’s new cool-sleeping products.
And Customatic said: “Elevate your sales with cutting edge innovation.” It pictured one of the company’s adjustable bed bases.
The January Las Vegas Market was another blockbuster bedding event. I’ll have more details on that next week.
